Advocacy

We offer a free and confidential advocacy service for people over 18 living in Mole Valley who use mental health services.

The service is run by trained personnel experienced in working with people with mental health needs.

Our aims are to support our clients to:

• resolve issues of concern to them

• feel in control of their lives

• exercise their rights when dealing with other organisations and services

What can I expect from the service?

• Telephone information and support

• Support in dealing with other organisations (for instance GPs, Mental

Health Teams, Benefits Agency, CAB, etc)

• Information and resources for service users

• Referral to other agencies where required (for instance specialist Mental

   Health Act Advocacy)

• Support to attend important meetings (such as Care Planning Meetings)

• We will continue to offer support until a satisfactory outcome is achieved

How can I access the Service?

We welcome self-referrals or referrals from others including GPs and members of Mental Health Teams.

We are happy to be contacted for telephone advice and support.  However, many issues will require a more detailed discussion and person to person meeting.

Our base is at the Leatherhead Clubhouse. If required, we can also offer you a more convenient appointment elsewhere.

Please phone Lenny on 01372 375400 for more information or to make an appointment.
