For the past three years, Mary Frances Trust, Catalyst Support, and Acting Out Productions have led the End Stigma Surrey campaign—an initiative commissioned by Surrey County Council Public Health to challenge mental health stigma and discrimination across the county.
Key highlights of the campaign included a series of mental health awareness events and the launch of a Surrey-wide stigma survey, which informed the creation of a free anti-stigma training programme available both online and face-to-face to anyone living or working in Surrey.
From April 2025, the End Stigma Surrey programme is being expanded to focus on issues wider than mental health. To improve access to information and resources, they will be housed in one place on the Healthy Surrey website.
Surrey County Council Public Health looks forward to continued engagement with various stakeholder organisations in Surrey to help embed anti-stigma measures in strategic, commissioning and contracting mechanisms.
While Mary Frances Trust, Catalyst Support, and Acting Out Productions will no longer lead the End Stigma Surrey programme, we will continue to play an active role as key participants and supporters. Mary Frances Trust remains dedicated to promoting mental health awareness through our blog platform and by sharing valuable advice and information on social media.
We’d like to thank everyone who played an active role in the campaign—by attending events, taking part in our survey, or sharing their lived experience with us. Your support has been vital in helping us challenge stigma across Surrey.
