We can come in to your educational setting and talk to your students about mental health and offer some strategies which we can all use to help us when things become tough. It’s a great way to start an open conversation about wellbeing, and can help in ending the stigma about mental health.
Getting the right sort of support for young people can take time and can also be a minefield of forms. Our mental health and emotional wellbeing support is free of charge, easy to access with no waiting lists and is available to anyone over 16 years old who is registered with a Surrey GP. We offer a weekly young people peer support group, as well as a huge range of other activities either face to face and online. All you have to do is register on our website – you do not need a GP referral. You can complete this self-referral form
Our range of support groups includes young people peer support; autism peer support; LGBTQ+ peer support; bereavement support; football training; circuit training; yoga; qigong; art group; singing group; photography group.
Please let your young people know that we run a Safe Haven in Epsom which is open every evening of the year (this is for anyone in crisis), and this is also accessible virtually. It is open 6-11pm. You can find out more here: Epsom Safe Haven
Do you have a group of parents/guardians at your school or college who would like to know more about how they can support their children’s mental health? Would they benefit from talking to other parents who are going through similar experiences? Contact us and we can let you know about our Parenting Support Group.
Do you have a Freshers Week where you’d like your students to know about our free emotional wellbeing support which is available to them outside of school/college or university? Please do contact us as we’d love to attend your Freshers Fair. Drop us an email on info@maryfrancestrust.org.uk
And finally, we’d be so happy if you’d like to do some fundraising for us! We can help you with ideas or marketing, or we can even set up a personalised fundraising page for you on our online fundraising platform. You’d be involving your students to work as a team and make a difference, as well as having fun in the process. The outcome here is definitely a win:win! Contact biba@maryfrancestrust.org.uk today.
In the last 3 years we’ve been involved in the First Give project on a number of occasions. We’ve been invited in to local state and independent schools to talk about MFT and the work we do. The First Give project is an excellent learning tool for school years 8-10 to learn about citizenship and social responsibility.
If your school is taking part in the programme and would like to know more about MFT, then please do contact us. We can tell you about how our charity works, the history of our charity, how we support our Surrey community and the positive outcomes we have. We can also help you with any marketing and design your students might need for the project, or help with some fundraising ideas and we can also help you with the presentation and presenting tips for the final judging day.
Please contact Biba, our fundraising officer, on biba@maryfrancestrust.org.uk for more information and to organise a date when she can come in and speak to your students.
