Heatwave – temporary changes to services

Due to the heatwave reaching its peak on Tuesday 23, Wednesday 24 and Thursday 25 June 2026, and following the government health warning in place during this period, we have made the decision to close all of our offices on these days.

As our offices are not air-conditioned, and to avoid anyone having to travel in extreme temperatures, we have made the following temporary changes to our services:

Community Connections

All face-to-face activities across all areas have been cancelled for these three days. We currently expect face-to-face activities to resume on Friday 26 June 2026, when temperatures are forecast to drop, but we will keep you updated if this changes.

All Community Connections online activities and support will continue as usual, and are not affected.

Community Connections offers free individual wellbeing support to Surrey residents (aged 16+) as well as access to a wide range of wellbeing activities in Banstead, Elmbridge, Epsom & Ewell and Mole Valley as well as online.

Wellbeing Advice & Information

Our Wellbeing Advice and Information service will continue as usual by telephone and online, providing practical information, guidance and signposting to Surrey residents aged 16+ on any issues affecting their wellbeing, such as debt, housing, benefits, PIP, advocacy etc.

Service User Network (SUN)

Our Service User Network (SUN) groups will continue to run as normal, both online and face-to-face.

SUN provides a supportive space for people experiencing emotional and mental health difficulties to connect with others, build coping skills and develop healthier relationships in a safe and understanding environment.

Safe Haven

Safe Havens will remain open every evening from 6pm to 11pm for anyone experiencing a mental health crisis. If you do not wish to travel, Safe Haven support is also available virtually. For more information, visit: Safe Haven (Crisis Support Service) – Mary Frances Trust

Primary & Secondary Care Services

Face-to-face appointments and home visits as part of our GPimhs, Social Prescribing and Recovery & Connect services will be rearranged to take place online, by telephone or at an alternative date.

GP Integrated Mental Health Service (GPimhs) supports people experiencing mental health difficulties by providing advice, guidance and short-term support through their GP practice.

Social Prescribing helps people improve their health and wellbeing by connecting them with local activities, groups and community services that meet their individual needs.

Recovery & Connect
provides personalised support for people with more complex or ongoing mental health needs, helping them to build confidence, manage their wellbeing and stay connected to their community.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Please take care, stay hydrated and keep cool during the hot weather.
