HOPE Project: “Wake Me Up” song

As part of our Hope Project, our In-Reach colleague Heather, who performs under the stage name of Souli Roots, has shared a very special song called “Wake Me Up” that she has written and performed. It relates to the hope she has for the future and how she deals with challenges.  It’s a great song that should make you want to join in the chorus and dance around. Listen and enjoy!

Here are the lyrics if you would like to sing along:

WAKE ME UP HAPPINESS

By Heather / Souli Roots

Intro – Breathe – Smile – Jump and Dance – “I’m gonna jump and dance”

Clap your hands – Move your feet

Shake up your body – when you

Feel the beat

Chorus

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Jump and dance – Happiness you wake me up

Help me dance my way into heaven

Gimme the strength – When it comes to the real test

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

“I’m gonna jump and dance”

Verse 1

I’m alive today

Tomorrow – Isn’t – for everyone

So feel the joy – The other side of FEAR is FREEDOM

Breathe – Smile – Jump and dance

Laugh louder when you can

Restore the PEACE – inside of you

Right now – My friends I’m glad

Let’s jump and dance – And – Feel the FREEDOM

And sing – “I’m gonna jump and dance”

Chorus

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Jump and dance – Happiness you wake me up

Help me dance my way into heaven

Gimmi the strength – When it comes to the real test

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up –  “I wanna jump and dance”

Bridge

I say yeah, yeah – YES to life

Happiness took away – All my FEARS and STRESS

I say yeah, yeah – YES to life

I’ve found –

What I’ve – Been searching for

What I’ve – Been searching for

Chorus

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Jump and dance – Happiness you wake me up

Help me dance my way into heaven

Gimmi the strength – When it comes to the real test

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

“I’m gonna jump and dance” YES “I’m gonna jump and dance”

wake me up – wake me up – wake me up

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Wake me up – Happiness you wake me up

Clap your hands – Move your feet

Shake up your body – when you – Feel the beat

Repeat chorus.
