In Mole Valley, a Coffee Morning, Autumn Arts and Wellbeing Advice and Information Drop-ins will be starting soon in the town centre. In Epsom, the Friday Peer Support Group at the Brickfield Centre and the Wednesday Women’s Craft & Sewing Group at King’s Church will be opening up again. We’ll also be offering a new face-to-face Meditation with Sound Healing Course at the end of October and Seasonal Arts & Crafts. We’ll hold weekly Arts and Crafts sessions at the Banstead Youth Centre too. Elmbridge is a little behind as our new coordinator, Joe, has only just joined us but he will be working towards getting groups and activities in place locally as soon as possible. Football has already resumed in Leatherhead and walks are taking place weekly in Leatherhead, Epsom and Walton-on-Thames.
We’re putting Covid-related risk measures in place in all the venues we’re working from to keep everyone as safe as we can. For now, we will be asking people to book a place, even for activities that are traditionally considered to be ‘drop-ins’. We’ll be asking you to confirm beforehand that you have no Covid symptoms and have not had contact (to your knowledge) with anyone who has Covid. We’ll be doing temperature checks with non-contact thermometers before you attend a session. A register and sanitiser facilities will also be in place. We’ll space out seating appropriately and keep groups small to make sure everyone feels safe.
Some face-to-face appointments will also be taking place in safe, socially distanced spaces at local venues. Although mask wearing is not mandatory, we would prefer you to do so to keep you, other clients and our staff as safe as possible.
Please keep an eye open for the calendar updates you will receive regularly via email or check the calendar on our website for new activities. Our virtual programme will be continuing, albeit a slightly lighter version of it, under the watchful gaze of John O’Malley so continuing online support is available to all who need it.
We won’t provide as many regular welfare checks as before but you’ll be able to book an appointment with your local coordinator, over the phone, online or face-to-face. As always, Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day on 0800 915 4644 and Safe Havens are open every day from 6pm-11pm if you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need urgent support. You can access these virtually or in person.
We hope to see some of you in person very soon!
