Big cheers for our Mercer 5K runners!

Kalpna running 5k

On 8 March 2020, MFT former Trustee Rita Brewis, her son David as well as MFT supporter Kalpna Desai (in photo below) bravely completed the Mercer 5K race in Surrey and chose MFT as the organisation to support!

We’d like to say, first, big congratulations to them for their incredible achievements – they should all feel very proud! And a big THANK YOU also for choosing to raise funds and awareness of MFT while doing this challenge. Rita and David Brewis raised together an impressive £800 and Kalpna a whopping £303.75!

It is thanks to donations like these that we’re able to support more and more people in Surrey with their mental wellbeing, as all money from donations get reinvested directly into our services.

Our courses, groups and activities may be suspended for now but we still provide one-to-one telephone or video call support and still take in new registrations. Read how you can request an appointment.

Our Safe Havens also remain open every day from 6pm until 11pm for people in mental health crisis.

Delivery and Strategy Lead: Co-Production and Community Engagement (Leatherhead)

Portrait of Megan, Co-Production Lead, MFT

Megan joined MFT in January 2025 and looks after the development of our strategic priority for MFT to live and breathe co-production. She also facilitates our Advisory Group, and champions those with lived experience of mental health challenges to improve the way mental health support is developed, reviewed, and delivered.

Megan first learnt about co-production as a Lived Experience Advisor with the Independent Mental Health Network based at Surrey Coalition of Disabled People, contributing her own lived experience to mental health projects in Surrey and North East Hampshire after graduating university.

She has since worked on a range of development projects for Surrey’s mental health and wellbeing support, immersing community engagement and lived experience into research and decision-making. Additionally, she is an alumna for The King’s Fund after completing their Advanced Organisational Development Practitioner programme.

To maintain her wellbeing, Megan is an avid reader, journals, and practices Yoga.
