We’re delighted to share this gorgeous poem written by our client Jen about the Brickfield Gardening Team who have transformed our garden into something really quite wonderful (scroll down to see pictures from the garden)!
If you would like to join the team, come along to the Brickfield Centre Garden (located Portland Pl, Epsom KT17 1DL) every Tuesday, 3.30pm-5pm. Please note due to the holiday season the last session for the year will be on 19 December 2023 and it will restart on 8 January 2024.
“This is our little gardening team,
We’re not just super, we are supreme!
We do all different kinds of things,
And something different to the group, each of us brings.
Some of us have built a compost heap,
Some have dug holes quite deep!
Some have grown veg in the vegetable patch,
Tomatoes, potatoes, beans – we’ve had quite a batch!
Flowers of all colours have been grown,
Seeds of different herbs have been sown.
Allen’s potatoes are quite legendary!
Springing up for all to see.
Jen’s painting there on the fence,
To join this group, you don’t have to make sense!
Rick and Sara busy doing the jigsaw puzzle,
At least it keeps them out of trouble.
Anna cooking the produce we’ve grown,
This group gets people out of their home.
You can come however you feel,
We’ll even give you tips on making a meal!
Philip and Barbara are doing their bit,
In this group they perfectly fit.
Max, Mark and S. digging up the soil,
Whilst inside for a cuppa the kettle it does boil!
Chris is busy feeding the birds,
This group is so good, I really don’t have the words.
And John he likes to climb up trees,
Even though the rest of us say “come down please”!
So if you think you’d like to join our group,
Just get in on the Tuesday loop.
You’re more than welcome, just come and see,
Even if you just want to come and be.
It would be great, if you come along,
Especially if you’re not feeling so strong.
Come even just to get you out of your bed,
And you just might find it helps your mental health and your head.”
