If the post you are applying for has been advertised as ‘Exempt’ from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974), all applicants who are offered employment will be subject to a Standard or Enhanced criminal record check from the Disclosure and Barring Service before appointment is confirmed. This will include details of all cautions, reprimands or final warnings, as well as convictions.
If the post, you are applying for has been advertised as ‘Protected’ by Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) you do not need to disclose any spent convictions, only unspent convictions.
